Race Results - Watermelon Capital Speedway - Cordele, GA.

Claimers is a novelty class intended for entry-level racers. The idea is to have an inexpensive and affordable racecar for those that have no racing experience, or at the most, limited racing experience. In addition, the class has a claim rule of $2000 which means any car in the class can be claimed after the car has made 3 starts.

To sum up the technical rules of it and the way I describe the class on Saturdays is you basically you an older model car, gut it out, put in a 4-point roll cage and go racing. A 3" wide, 5-point seat belt harness is required along with a racing seat and a window net is also required. Approved drivers suit and helmet as specified in the general rules is required and head restraints, head socks and gloves are highly recommended. A fire extinguisher is also required to be mounted on the dash where it can be of easy access by the driver. Other than that, the cars must be strictly stock with very little modifications.
Official rules can be found on our website by visiting
http://watermeloncapitalspeedway.com/watermelon_capital_speedway_rule.htm.
